I love transitioning our home decor from winter to spring. There’s something so refreshing about introducing bright colors and florals back into the home while we patiently wait for the outside to catch up with the blooming interior. 

Since we live in an old farmhouse, I love to play with farmhouse decor and mix it with French country and coastal cottage inspiration—a mix of old and new, rustic charm, bright whites and neutral tones, textures, natural elements, and splashes of soft calming colors. Spring Tablescape

When I decorate our home, I like to concentrate on creating little seasonal moments throughout rather than a full redecoration. In our dining room, you’ll see that I was inspired by blues and whites this season—very coastal/French country and the same color scheme that we used for our wedding. I love being intentional with decorating and always try to find inspiration in both the season that I’m decorating for and also my personal life story. It’s beautiful when you find the perfect balance of both.

For this spring tablescape, I started with a gorgeous scalloped edge, quilted blue and white floral runner. Then, I added a white vase filled with faux real-touch tulips. When I first got these tulips, I was amazed by how life-like they looked and felt! Next, I added cream scalloped edge plates, gold flatware, and dusty blue cloth napkins. The result is a simple, elegant spring tablescape that is fit for a brunch, Easter dinner, or a special occasion. Impress your guests with this spring decor idea for 2024.

Spring Bookshelf Styling

We have several inset bookshelves in our home—3, to be exact. I can’t help but wonder what types of books or pictures graced these shelves over the lifetime of this farmhouse. For me, I like using them for seasonal decor and to place meaningful pieces on them that represent our lives. 

Here, you’ll see the theme of blue and whites represented in a variety of ways—from vintage-inspired blue and white floral vases to gorgeous silk flowers. For this spring decor idea for 2024, I added a few distressed pillar candle holders with battery-operated wax pillar candles, which add a soft glow to the room. You’ll also see the cutest wooden bunnies, a bundle of birch logs, and a wooden dough bowl filled with more wax pillar candles and hydrangeas. I also sprinkled a few personal items throughout that carry meaning. This little nook of our home brings me so much joy. Spring Living Room Decor

Throw pillows—do I need to say anything more? These are a quick way to introduce seasonal colors and patterns into your home in a matter of minutes! For this spring farmhouse decor idea, we suggest opting for throw pillow inserts and collecting different pillow covers to swap out for the seasons. Or, having a few “every day” pillow covers and mixing and matching them with a few seasonal pillows or covers. 

For this spring decor idea for 2024, you’ll see that I chose pillow covers that are all blue and offer a bit of a pattern play. The blue velvet pillows were pieces from our wedding (we had a hay bale seating area with pillows that overlooked our local river—swoon). I paired these with a white and blue striped pillow and a stunning white and blue floral throw pillow that is taking center stage for spring! 

Spring Front Door Decor

Your front door is typically the first thing people see when they enter your home, so why not use this area to make a seasonal statement? Inspired by spring cottage decor, I made this wreath last year with a few supplies from my local craft store, but there are also a variety of stunning pre-made spring wreath options to choose from online and in-store.
